About Me

Hello! I’m Richard Schutte, an experienced DevOps engineer, open-source enthusiast, and digital innovation specialist. My passion lies in designing, implementing, and optimizing automated infrastructures and systems that help organizations operate smarter and more efficiently.

With extensive expertise in technologies such as Kubernetes, Ansible, GitLab CI/CD, Proxmox, and Home Assistant, I enjoy tackling challenging projects that require precision, technical creativity, and a solution-oriented mindset. My strength lies in combining technical expertise with a clear vision for automation and user-friendliness.

Additionally, I am actively involved in developing digital solutions for a healthier lifestyle through my platform Digitist.org. My motivation for this initiative is deeply personal. I have LPL deficiency—a rare genetic disorder where the body lacks lipoprotein lipase, an enzyme crucial for breaking down fats (triglycerides) in the bloodstream. This condition can lead to extremely high levels of triglycerides, dramatically increasing the risk of severe complications such as acute pancreatitis.

Currently, I am participating in a clinical trial for Olezarsen, an innovative medication designed to significantly reduce triglyceride levels. Being part of this trial is immensely important to me, as it has the potential to greatly enhance my quality of life and protect me from potentially life-threatening episodes of pancreatitis. Before starting this treatment, the triglyceride levels in my blood reached alarmingly dangerous values—up to 20 times the safe limit. Thankfully, through this trial, I have hope and optimism for a safer and healthier future.

I strongly believe in transparency, efficiency, and knowledge sharing. On my blog, I regularly share experiences and insights from my professional life to inspire and assist others.
